whatsup dude! I really love the first tower one, but I think it could be improved with a less central composition. Maybe more space on the right side?

Thanks guys!!

Completely agree Devin, was going for a book cover kinda vibe but turned out a little awkward. I might come back to it again at some point :)

My favorite might be the snowy hill one, I also really dig the experimenting with trees on purely strong light and shadow. How tough are brush pens to use? You can just pick those up at a hobby store right? Never used them before haha.

Will's Sketchbook

Postby Will » Fri Apr 18, 2014 7:27 am

Thanks a lot guys!! :D

Nick - They're super fun! Its more just the working in only 2 values (given the white of the paper) that is challenging, but I guess it depends on how you want to use them :) Yee, pretty sure you can pick em up most places, although I think the pentel one is supposed to be best as you can buy refills

Apparently I'm not supposed to be replying to comments without showing stuff haha, so here's some sketch scraps. Nearing the end of my moleskine 3:

Went down to Falmouth for a long weekend and did some sketching P:

Holy moly.. love all the studies. Just browsed through your blog... really awesome. Those patterns with the brush pen are quite fun and interesting, looks like a really nice approach to get more into shape design. Got here through your avatar pic btw, it worked. :D

Looking sweet man!!! love the drawing in it (especially portrait) but also while being not sure,i think you could have used bigger shapes in some areas, for example the area around nose and eyes.Keep kicking ass bro!

damn dude your colors are sick!

on your drawings, it shows that you're mainly comfortable with painting (same problem i have ;_; ) - you approach everything from silhouette, shapes, and never really construct. i'd say do some real construction study, drawing through entire objects and turning them in space, it'll give your work that extra solidity and make it kill me even more ;_;

that lava painting tho damn
